Mysterious dozen - call for information on twelve red poles on the A367 - 11th Oct 09 |

Despite the recent removal of redundant and rusty poles from Peasedown St John, local Councillor Sarah Bevan was surprised to find 12 new ones scattered along the A367.
Enquiries among Highways officers yielded no clues as to what the poles are for and who erected them.

Disastrous Decision over Bathampton Meadows - 8th Oct '09 |

The Government’s decision to let the planning permission for a Park and Ride on Bathampton Meadows stand has caused widespread consternation.
The Park and Ride, which is part of the Bath Transport Package, will be in the new constituency of North East Somerset at the next General Election. Gail Coleshill, who will be standing for election as the Liberal Democrats choice, was devastated to hear the news.

More work needed on land-use paper - 1st Oct '09 |

B&NES Council has adopted a land-use policy paper setting out options for distribution of land for housing and jobs from 2011-2026.
Liberal Democrat Councillors voted to abstain on the paper citing concerns over the lack of preparation of the document. The Lib Dems have previously opposed the increased housing targets imposed by central government.
